...that today is National Rocky Road Day? Enjoy a cone of rocky road ice cream today! Rocky Road ice cream was invented by William Dreyer in 1929. Most ice cream of the time was vanilla, chocolate or strawberry and didn't contain anything 'extras' -- Dreyer used his wife's sewing shears to cut marshmallows into pieces to add to his chocolate ice cream and also added walnuts (later replaced with almonds).
